ECBAWM secures voter protections for Presidential Election polling locations in Burlington County, N.J.

  • November 6, 2024

On Tuesday, November 5th, ECBAWM filed a complaint on behalf of the Attorney General of New Jersey, Matthew J. Platkin, and the Director of the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, Sudeep Iyer to keep polls open and order paper ballots in Burlington County, N.J. for the presidential election. After the N.J. Attorney General received reports of widespread technological issues causing exceptionally long lines—in some cases exceeding four hours—ECBAWM filed a complaint and emergency application seeking an order directing the use of paper ballots and extensions of polling hours until 9pm, which were ultimately granted by the Superior Court of New Jersey.

The Attorney General of New Jersey and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights are represented by ECBAWM partners O. Andrew F. Wilson and Matthew D. Brinckerhoff and associate Vivake Prasad.
