ECBAWM pursues Bar Complaints on behalf of the Legal Accountability Center against 3 DOJ Attorneys

  • August 12, 2025

Last month, ECBAWM filed bar complaints against three U.S. Department of Justice lawyers on behalf of the Legal Accountability Center, accusing them of making misleading and false statements in court filings for litigation defending President Trump.

Complaints were filed against Eric J. Hamilton, a deputy assistant attorney general, trial attorney Liam C. Holland, and special counsel Brad C. Rosenberg, flagging misconduct that was “so disingenuous that the court is left with little confidence that the defense can be trusted to tell the truth,” the Center said, with particular attention toward ongoing filings in litigation brought by the National Treasury Employees Union, a case currently being held in Washington, D.C.

In a quote to Law360, ECBAWM Partner Hal R. Lieberman, who is representing the Legal Accountability Center, said that “government lawyers are, as a matter of course, expected to be honest with the courts. It is a solemn and non-negotiable duty.”
