NYTimes details Murder Charges for Correction Officers involved in death of ECBAWM Client, Messiah Nantwi

On April 16, 2025, the New York Times published an article detailing the indictment of Correction Officers Caleb Blair and Jonah Lev, who were charged with second-degree murder of Messiah Nantwi.
22-year-old Messiah Nantwi, died March 1 after he was beaten at the Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy, N.Y. According to the article, an 11-person grand jury charged the two correction officers with second-degree murder. They and three other officers were also charged with manslaughter in the first degree and gang assault.
