ECBAWM Represents Airbnb Hosts in Challenge to NYC’s Arbitrary and Unconstitutional Short-Term Rental Rules

  • June 2, 2023

On June 1, 2023, ECBAWM filed a lawsuit on behalf of Rupi Arora, Sarah Brezavar, and Gia Briscoe—three New Yorkers who host short-term rentals in their personal residences. The suit, which was filed in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan, challenges New York City’s new rules governing short-term rentals on the grounds that, among other things, the rules violate the hosts’ privacy rights under the Fourth Amendment, are unconstitutionally vague, and contrary to New York law.

Ms. Arora, Ms. Brezavar, and Ms. Briscoe are represented by ECBAWM attorneys Debra Greenberger and Nick Bourland.
