On June 1, 2023, ECBAWM filed a lawsuit on behalf of Rupi Arora, Sarah Brezavar, and Gia Briscoe—three New Yorkers who host short-term rentals in their personal residences. The suit, which was filed in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan, challenges New York City’s new rules governing short-term rentals on the grounds that, among other things, the rules violate the hosts’ privacy rights under the Fourth Amendment, are unconstitutionally vague, and contrary to New York law.
