ECBAWM Partner Zoe Salzman to Speak at Adult Survivors Act Webinar Sponsored by New York State Legislators and SafeHorizon

  • July 19, 2023

The window for sexual abuse survivors to file lawsuits under New York’s Adult Survivor Act (ASA) closes on November 23, 2023. To spread awareness about the Act and educate survivors about the process, New York State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal, New York State Assembly Member Linda Rosenthal, and survivor assistance organization Safe Horizon are hosting an informational webinar on Wednesday, July 26 at 4 pm

ECBAWM partner Zoe Salzman will be a featured speaker, drawing on her extensive experience with sexual assault, sexual abuse, and “#metoo” cases to help survivors understand their rights and navigate the process of filing a lawsuit under the ASA. Most recently, Salzman represented Haleigh Breest in her civil lawsuit against film director Paul Haggis, which resulted in a $10 million award for Ms. Breest despite Haggis’ numerous attempts at silencing her.

“It’s vital that survivors understand their rights under the ASA,” said Salzman, who worked to get the act passed. “They deserve this opportunity to seek justice if they so choose.”

The informational webinar is open to the public. Registration is required.
