New York, NY – Multibillionaire S. Daniel Abraham was sued today in Manhattan Supreme Court for the alleged sexual assaults and harassment of his former executive assistant, Beth Sugerman. The complaint alleges that Mr. Abraham assaulted her in car rides and on the street, groped and squeezed her under the table at dinners with figures such as Tommy Lasorda, Ed Koch, and Henry Kissinger, and repeatedly propositioned her for sex. The complaint also alleges that after Ms. Sugerman repeatedly rebuffed Mr. Abraham, she was fired.

“No one, no matter how rich, famous, or powerful, is above the law. With the passage of the Adult Survivors Act, we look forward to Ms. Sugerman finally getting her day in court,” said Ilann M. Maazel, lead counsel for Ms. Sugerman, and a partner at Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel. “No one should feel unsafe in their workplace because of their gender. Gender equality in employment requires that those who have abused their power are held accountable,” said Sarah Mac Dougall, counsel for Ms. Sugerman.

ECBAWM has a prominent #MeToo practice and was the firm that secured a $10 million verdict against Hollywood director Paul Haggis.
