Jasmine Diaz

Jasmine Diaz joined ECBAWM in 2025 as a paralegal. Before joining ECBAWM, Jasmine worked as a Litigation Assistant in the Criminal Defense Practice of The Legal Aid Society, New York City’s largest provider of legal services to low-income communities. In that role, she gathered and analyzed discovery materials in preparation for trial and served as the sole Spanish speaker in her department, bridging communication between Spanish-speaking clients, their families, and the legal system.

Jasmine also previously worked as a paralegal in The Legal Aid Society’s Wrongful Conviction Unit, where she assisted attorneys representing clients challenging their convictions in post-conviction proceedings. She contributed to multiple high-profile cases that led to exonerations. In addition to reviewing and analyzing FOIL responses and investigative records, she often took on responsibilities not typically assigned to paralegals, including conducting field investigations, locating eyewitnesses, and canvassing neighborhoods where alleged crimes took place.

Jasmine earned her B.A. in Justice Studies with a concentration in the Justice System and double minors in English and Psychology from Montclair State University in 2020.
